what are the steps in applying for a business visa in china

I intend to start importing goods from china. I already have a relative there who has partnered up with me. I want to know the steps in obtaining the visa and the duration.

Hi, for business visit, you should provide an invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China. Basic documents required: your passport, application form, photo, round-trip ticket and hotel reservation. Appointment is not required and you just need to submit application to the embassy on their working days,either in person or by someone entrusted.

thanks for your previous answer which was clear enough. I would also like to know if the invitation letter can be sent to me through my e-mail from my correspondent in china. Or should it be sent by post

The invitation letter may be in the form of fax, photocopy or computer printout, but the consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original of the invitation letter. So, better ask for original from your correspondent.
