Dali to Shaxi (Yunnan), highway finally open?

Hello,

I'm planning to spend a few days in Shaxi (Yunnan) in July.

We are planning to take the night train from Kunming to Dali.

If anyone could give me some advice to get from Dali to Shaxi it would be nice. I read about a new express road, but I don't know if it is open yet, or if it will be in July.

Oh, yes. The highway for the route is finally open.

From Dali to Shaxi, I suggest you take a bus to Jianchuan first and frequent buses are arranged for the trip. After arriving at Jianchuan, there are many buses to Shaxi directly.

Do you know how it takes from Dali to Jianchuan, and then from Jianchuan to Shaxi?
Is there no direct option from Dali to Shaxi?

I'm afraid there is no direct bus service from Dali to Shaxi, so you are advised to transfer at Jianchuan. Generally, it takes 3-4h from Dali to Jianchuan and the forward bus to Shaxi takes around an hour!
