What transportation method do you choose from HK to GZ?
If you choose the trains, you will reach GZ East Railway Station. Then you can take the local subway line 3 and then change to line 1 to many places like Shamian, Chen Clan Academy. The Yuexiu Park and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall can be reached by subway line 2.

I did not hear about a special sightseeing bus in GZ like the sightseeing bus in SH. I think the subway lines can take you to most of the places in GZ.

If you can tell me what kind of attractions you want to see, I may tell you how to reach each other them one by one.

Hi Mindy
Thanks indeed for useful info.

I will take train from Hung hom station in HK . I don't have special choice of attractions though just wanted to visit those which are nearest to GZ East station ( say if Pearl River is nearby i would like to visit that , you can advice me :-) . Since i will have to go to Shenzhen in the evening can you also guide me if i can get high speed train from GZ East station ? do i need to buy tickets in advance or i can get those before my journey.

Also do people understand English in GZ city normally ? i dont know single word of chineese so bit afraid.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi.
To be honest, there are a few attractions near the East Railway Station, so you can use the subway lines to the places I mentioned in the last answer. Trust me, one day is enough if you just only pick up one to three. In my opinion, the Chen Clan Academy and Shamian Island are worth seeing.

The High speed trains, G-train are from GZ South Railway Station and only D-trains (also a kind of bullet train, but slow then G-train) can be found from East Railway Station. To reach the south railway station, you need to take the local subway line 2. It is suggested to book the tickets in advance, because many people use it every day.

To be honest, there are no worthy destinations around the suth train station. If yo don't mind, you can take a taxi to travel 9-10km's distance to Chimelong Resort to have fun!

Many foreign people are traveling GZ every day, so language is not really a big problem. In many places, the signages are marked both in Chinese and English for your convenience! Though, if you take a taxi, it is best to show the Chinese name of your destination to the driver. Say, the Chimelong Resort, in Chinese it is 长隆欢乐世界!
