All the taxis are charged by meters and fare is around 200RMB if the road condition is good. If you meet the traffic jam, it is hard to predict.

Well, I assume its not like Manila that 'metered taxis' can be a nightmare (even to us locals). Do you suggest we do the train to the city? Then taxi to our hotel? This is what I usually do in HK and KL.

Hi, metro is covenient in the city, but to get to this hotel, you need to transfer for several times! As your hotel is so close to SH Railway Station, I suggest you take shuttle bus line 5 to SH Railway Station and then walk there!

Thank you so much for the reply! What about if like from KL – KLIA to KL Sentral on the Airport Train – then take a taxi to like Westin KL (from KL Sentral). This is not possible in SH – fast train to the city station, then taxi to the hotel?

I am not sure whether I understand correctly. But the Maglev trains can take you from PVG to Longyang Road, where you can take a taxi to your hotel at the cost of around CNY60!

Yes, that's what I meant. I assume there is a Taxi Cue there? And the facility is 'friendly' for suitcases with wheels? (Thanks, you have been most helpful).

Oh, yes. You can find the Taxi Cue out of Longyang Road station! And I remember only escalators are available for passengers. Is it for you?
