About:China Embassy in Thailand

I'm going to work in china.

My son is a US citizen as I am too. He lives in Thailand with my wife, but she is not a Us citizen. She is only Thai but would like for her to live with me in china while I work. Can she stay with me for a year under a family visa or something being we have a child who is noticed and approved by the United States Embassy? Thank you

Hi, your wife and son can apply for family visti S type without problem. They can handle applications from Chinese embassy or consulate in Thailand.

Thank you so much for the information. How long are the s type good for before needing to be renewed?

Can they leave the country for like a day or two and get issued another s visa for 180 days again? Or is there a time frame they have to stay out of China for?

Yes, you can exit and apply for a new S2 if you want to come to PRC again. It doesn't say that you have to stay for 180 days before you go.
