About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Transiting through Beijing

I am an Indian Resident travelling to Pyongyang next week via beijing. I shall be reaching beijing via hongkong. My flight from Beijing to Pyongyang is next day but within 22 hours. Same is the case while returning. Do I need a Chinese VISA as I will have to stay overnight in a hotel both ways.

You can apply for free stay permit after arrival at the airport showing your passport and flight ticket.

Thanks for your answer to my question. Can you please tell me that it is surely applicable to Indians who are not covered under 72 hour VISA free scheme.

Because your stopover is less than 24 hours, you enjoy free transit in Beijing. Nothing is required if you will remain in the airport transit area. But you have to apply for a stay permit if you plan to go out of the airport.
