requirements for a visit visa for 4 days

Dear sir, My brother is in singapore and he is planning to go to hongkong with me for the vacation for 4days. He will be done all payments and expenses. I'm in sri lanka and I haven't travel to any other country before. I have checked with so many travel agencies and they said cannot issue it for a fresh passport. Kindly let me know is that true or if not what are the requirements.Thank you.Vidarshani

I think you can give it a try because I didn't find such a saying on the website of Chinese embassy in your country. You can choose to apply from the Chinese embassy. The required documents are: Filled ID1003A application form, a recent color photo (48mm×33mm), a copy of your passport information page, your itinerary and air tickets. If your application is processed by Chinese embassy, you will have it on the fourth working day. If your application is sent to HK Immigration Department, you might wait for a month.
