Going to stay in Hsinchu, Taiwan from mid of may to july end

Hello, I am going to stay in Hsinchu, Taiwan from mid of may to july end for some academic purpose. I know that this summer time is the time of typhoons. So, can you please tell me the severity of typhoon in Taiwan especially in Hsinchu and how local people tackle the situation? What are the precautions I need to take for it?

It generally steps into the typhoon season around June. Before any typhoon, there is usually prediction, so I suggest you pay close attention to the weather forecast when you stay there to ensure that you will be indoor when the bad weather comes. During the typhoon days, dense rainfall usually happen together, so you'd better prepare rainy gear and jacket in case.
