procedure of changing x1 to s1

I have two main issues...my husband and I are on an x1 but my husband is planning to change his course and I am planning to change that to S1..what is the procedure...?

and the second is that we have a 6 year old son in Pakistan at the moment, we want him to come here, so when he went to the embassy to apply for the s1, the people at the office gave him a s2....we are planning to stay in CHINA for a while. How can we handle this..we cannot send him back to Pakistan after every 6 months to renew the S2.....

Hi, you can extend it to S2 type only. So, just visit local PSB for more details. As I know, Valid Temporary Accommodation Registration Form, the residence permit of your husband and your marriage certificate are required. Your son holding S2 should be fine as well because you can extend his S2 without leaving.

Do I have to leave? Or I can stay in China to do this?

Be careful with S2.

If your son has a 180 days S2 the total accumulated extension CANNOT be more than 180 days.Means the PSB can extend S2 fr only once for 180 days stay or twice for 90 days stay.

So to make long story short your son will have to leave China after 360 days if he holds a S2 with a stay of 180 days.
