Actually, bus travel is more convenient, because you still need to transfer to bus by metro. If you will get to Shekou port, take bus no. M371 or 331 to get off at Baoan Wanjia Station, which is around 700m from your hotel then.
By metro, you can take Shekou metro line to Window of the World first and then transfer to bus no. 327, M413, 367 or 301 to get off at Baoan Transportation Council/Bureau stop and then walk to your hotel within 250m.1

Yes, you are right that the Lingzhi metro station is closest to your hotel. To get there from Shekou by subway, you can take Shekou line at Shekou Port Station to Window of the World, where transfer to Luobao Line to Xin'an. Then you can easily transfer to Hangzhong line in the metro station to Lingzhi Station. The exit A1 is closest to your hotel!0
