CHINESE CITIZEN, US GREEN CARD HOLDER

Hi, my mom is a Chinese citizen and US Green Card holder. She is planning to visit China this summer, the first time in 32 years, what is the process? Applications, etc?

Sorry I forgot to mention her passport hasn't been renewed since the 1980's
