About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong, Beijing, Amsterdam

Hello, I would like to travel to Beijing and to make use of the 72 hour free transit arrangement. I have a Hungarian passport which allows this option.

I will be arriving to Beijing from Hong Kong on Thursday 4 April at 10.45am and leaving Beijing on Sunday at 00.55am at night flying to Amsterdam. So in total I will spend around 62 hours in Beijing arriving from Hong Kong and leaving to the 3rd country the Netherlands.

I was told that I might not be allowed to board the plaine in Hong Kong if I don't have a valid visa. What is your experience with this? How does it work in practice?

In Beijing Airport how long would it take to get this exemption? I mean how many hours? Is it less than an hour or couple of hours?

Thank you for answering

Hi, I am not sure which airline you will take, but most of them know it clearly because this exemption in Beijing and Shanghai had been carried out for more than one year. You can confirm this with your airline again. Generally, the processing takes tens of minutes.
