how do i clean my duvet?

My daughter has a silk duvet purchased from Choyer silk factory in China.  She may have been exposed to lice and I would like to know how I can clean it as a precautionary measure.

It is suggested that duvet shouldn't be washed by the washing machine. You can wash it in water. When you finish washing, you shouldn't squeeze it. Instead, you put it in the string bag for one or two hours. Then spread it and wait until it is dry. Please remember to avoid direct sunlight. You are not suggested to wash it frequently. In order to keep it clean, put it in a quilt cover and expose it every two weeks.
