UK citizen wanting to apply for Visa in Bangkok

Hi,

Can I get a Chinese tourist L from Bangkok? I will not have time to obtain it from the UK as I have had to renew my UK passport which should arrive on the 1st April, I fly to Bangkok on the 5th April and the application process days 3-4 days which is too tight to be sure I will get my passport back in time to fly!
