About:Chinese Crew, Resident and Journalist Visa

I am a crew member on cruise ship(no chinesse company),I will have embarkation in Shanghai and after that we are going to Japan,South Korea etc.

Hello,In embassy they told me that I need G transit and they gave me that one and no C,because it is not chinesse company and my ship will not stay in China see.Is it ok and can I go with that G type to Shanghai?
