About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I qualify for a 72 hour visa? How do I get it? If not, can I wait in the airport?

I currently have a double entry visa for China but I have used both entries.
On June 6th I fly to Singapore.
I fly back to Beijing on June 10th.
On June 11th I fly to the UK.

If you are from one of the 51 countries listed here, you can enjoy 72 hours free transit in Beijing. When you land at the airport, there are clear signs that lead you to the window where you can get it. Don't be nervous. It's just a stamp on your passport and of course it's free.

Great, do I just need printed proof of my return to the UK? I won't have my tickets until I check in. Thanks so much for your reply.

Sorry, you should have the return air ticket when you land at Beijing (on your return trip). Otherwise, you can't enjoy 72 hours free transit.

So I have got the flights all booked and paid for:
Singapore to Beijing. Beijing to London.

Because I bought the trip as two separate flights I will need to check in separately for the Beijing-London flight so I wouldn't have the actual ticket in my hand on my arrival from Singapore.
I have all the confirmation details.

Does anyone have any advice for how I could deal with this situation?
Would I be able to get my ticket printed earlier?

Hi, at original departure check-in desk, you can tell check-in staff you want to apply for 72-hour free transit in Beijing. The check-in staff may need you to fulfill some detail information then send application information to China immigration prior to your arrival. Confirmed onward airline ticket from Beijing to London is required when you apply for this free transit permit. If you have all the confirmation details, you are advised to printed them earlier.
