About:China Visa

Can a Philippine passport holder extend his tourist visa at Shanghai PSB/ Chinese Embassy in HK?

What documents are needed? How long would it take for the whole process?

Yes, you can extend it at the entry and exit manage department in Shanghai. It takes 7 to 15 days. You should file your extension at least 7 days before your current one expires. You should porvide your passport, registration form of temporary residence, 2 color photos and a bank account that contains around 21000 RMB.

Should the bank issuing the bank statement in China? How much will the process be? Will this procedure be the same for senior citizens?

The extension costs around CNY 160. The procedure is the same for senior citizens. And you'd better have a Chinese account which has at least 3000 USD or 21000 RMB inside.
