About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Australia to Singapore to Guangzhou to Singapore to Australia ?

I plan to fly from Sydney Australia to Singapore 2 day stop over then to Guangzhou for a 2 day stop over then back to Singapore for 3 day stop over then back to Sydney Australia.
I would be using the same airline.
Would I qualify for the 72 hour visa free ?

No, the itinerary above does not apply to this free transit in Guangzhou. You need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance for this visit.

If it was just me I wouldn't bother but I am sure my wife will
pressure me into having to deal with bureaucrats.
