About:Entry Regulations of China

Questions/Documents at the Shanghai airport?

Hi, I recently heard that as a foreigner to enter Shanghai, you need to have family or friends address/contact info as backup or else they won't let you out of the airport. Is that even true? Thanks.

Do you mean to go out of the airport when you transit via Shanghai? if your stopover is less than 24 hours, it will be fine. But if you mean the 72 hour visa free transit, you should provide hotel bookings for your stay, or contact and address of family or friend where you will stay at for application of free transit permit.
