About:China Tourist Visa

Is it absolutely necessary to have 6 months of remaining validity on my passport?

My passport expires July 2014 and I will be traveling to Beijing Apr 3 - 15 2014

Yes, 6 month validity of passport is required if you want to apply for a Chinese visa.
