Backpacking in Taiwan

Hi , my girl intends to backpack alone to that island. Is it safe for a gal? If so, where is good to visit on lone trip?
She's 21 and insists for experience. Please advise genuinely as we need assurance of safety.
Appreciate recommendations and advices. Thank you.

It is safe to travel alone even for girls, so please do not worry.
She can avoid some mountain areas such as the Ali Mountain and Yangming Mountain, but just travel in the cities or city nearby places.
National Taiwan Museum, Presidential Office Building, Taipei 101, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Shilin Night Market are suggested in Taipei.
It is suggested to use local public transportation methods, so that the safety can be ensured.
