About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Travelling within China without a passport

I'm currently in the middle of having my Student visa/permanent residence processed. I had my interview at the PSB and they still have my passsport. The problem is that I want to travel a few hours away from where I'm living, but don't have my passport with visa handy, nor a photocopy. Will it be a problem if I show up without one, or can I get away with it for 2 nights since it is being processed?

Yes, of course. Because you must have a recepit form for collection issued by the PSB, right? This form can be accepted for travel.
