About:Chinese Embassy in Turkey

Traveling to Shanghai next month need Urgent Visa

Hello, I live in the Northern Cyprus, I am a citizen here, and both my parents were born here, however I have a UK passport. I visited the Chinese embassy in South Cyprus, but they refused me and told me that I had to go to Turkey to get it, can you please confirm this for me, it is Urgent I have my invitation from China and I am supposed to be visiting on the 12th of March. Can you help me, also do I have to be there in person? Thank you.

I think you should contact the Chinese embassy in Turkey to confirm this. If you can't come there to apply, you might ask your friends or agencies to submit your application and collect your visa for you.

Unfortunately, I was declined, I had filled out my application form, provided all of my details including my ticket, hotel information and my invite, but I was told that I would need to fly to the UK for application. I have a residents card for Northern Cyprus, but the Embassy in Southern Cyprus also rejected it and told me that I need to get a South Cyprus residency card!. What is strange though is the Embassy in South Cyprus will accept a N. Cyprus residency card and a Turkish Passport?. I am still confused about this matter. If I fly to the UK just for application, it will cost me twice as much to go to China. I have now been told that if I fly to Hong Kong, I can get one for Shanghai in one day, but I am not going to take that risk. I guess I have run out of options!! :(
