About:Beijing Travel Tips

Trouble with money exchange in Beijing

Good day,

We are from South Africa and we need to exchange ZAR (South African Rand) for RMB. We are currently in China, BJ. We have tried at all the exchange facilities at the airport as well as the Bank of China but they refuse to exchange the money.

What can we do to exchange our cash here in China?

Generally, it is a little hard to exchange ZAR to RMB in China. Anyway, I have only one suggestion for you:
call 95566 (international hotline of Bank of China) to ask them whether they have any branch in BJ being able to echange ZAR. I suggest you listen to the phone patiently and carefully and they will remind you pressing certain number to connect the Engish language service.
