6 month F visa for paid internship in Chengdu?

Hey, I just got an offer for 6 months internship in Chengdu. I would be somewhat paid for that as I really can´t afford unpaid internship. Anyway I come from Czech Republic, but currently I am in Vietnam where I am also trying to apply for it. I have just been told that with the invitation letter from my employer I can get only 30 day one and that for 6 months I need some kind of Authorization letter from Chinese government. What is that and how can I get it?

I would be very grateful for any kind of information concerning my case :) Thanks a lot!

If you are paid, i think you have to apply for work Z type with work perkit and official invitation letter.

Internships in China usually allow an allowance of <2000 rmb/month (it depends on what region in China you're in) or so which is meant to be used for rent/food/etc. The company claims this and pays taxes on it and it's handled differently than a salary. In the past interns have been able to get F visas and this allowance without issue.
