f-visa expires in late february, flight ticket for mid-march

Hi all,I'm currently on a 6-Month Student/F type which is expiring in late february but my flight home is scheduled for mid-march; is it possible to extend my visa or get a Tourist type from inside PRC for the remaining time?

Yes, you can extend your F at local PSB, an invitation letter from the inviting unit with official seal of the Unit and a copy of their business license are required for extension. You can also provide hotel bookings and ticket for leaving to support your remaining time.
