what is the best visa type?

Hi there, I'm going to go to China for a volunteer project and was wondering what would be the best type to get? Also would it be possible to get a 6 month one for this? I have tried contacting my local embassy but they still haven't gotten back to me, unfortunately, so any information will help! Thank you!

I personally think you should apply for a F type. A six month F type is ok. You can apply for that but the consular officers finally decide how long duration you will earn.
