About:Chinese Consulate in Brisbane

Proof of travel and accommodation for Visa application

We are Australian citizens and are travelling to Shenzhen in May to visit with friends who are also Australian citizens but working in China. We are flying in to Hong Kong International Airport and were then planning on getting the ferry to Shenzhen direct from the airport. We were going to book the ferry when we get to Hong Kong airport so we won’t have evidence of travel to and from China, but we will have return air tickets from Brisbane to Hong Kong. Also we will be staying with our friends at their private residence so we will not have proof of accommodation for our application. What do we need to provide to satisfy these requirements?

Hi, you are able to get 5-day Shenzhen visa on arrival. You need to apply for a full Chinese visa if you plan to stay in Shenzhen for a longer time. Return air ticket from Brisbane to HK is enough, and you should also provide an invitation letter from your friend instead of the hotel bookings. The letter should include:
a. Information on the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
b. Information on the planned visit (arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, etc.)
c. Information on the inviting individual (name, contact telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the inviting individual)

Thank you Molly. We did look at the Shenzhen visa but decided to get the Chinese visa as we may go to other places outside of Shenzhen.
