About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Informing airlines of the visa free transit

I am having trouble to get the airlines to recognise this free facility (BA and Air NZ), they are unsure on how the authorities in China are to be informed. Any idea or information on what I can pass on to the airline regarding this?

May I know where will you transit in China? if you transit via beijing, you can apply for the free transit permit directly after arrival. Anyway, the airlines should be aware of this policy as it has been carried out for over a year.

Maybe you can inform the carrire airline with information of this free transit searched online. Or ask them to contact Shanghai airport directly via 0086-21-51105100.
