shanghai airport hotels

Question

I'lll have a 7 hour layover in SH..  My wife is Filipino and I'm Canadian.   She would require a visa to exit the airport I think. Are we able to leave the airport to go to one of the close airport hotels, or do we need to stay in the airport?  Is there a hotel we can stay at inside the airport ?

No visa needed for your wife. She just need to apply for a stay permit and then can get out of the airport. In the airport, there are hourly lounges, so you can choose to stay there, but there is no hotels. The closest hotel is the airport hotel between the two terminals and I think you can go to that hotel to have rest.
