About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am going to fly from UK to Cambodia via Guangzhou with stopover is this ok without visa?

UK Passport holder and I will fly from London to Phnom Penh via Guangzhou with China Southern then on my return journey I have separated the flight from Phnom Penh to Guangzhou then 72 hours later Guangzhou to London.

Does this qualify me for the V free entry? What would be my restrictions?
