Procedure in getting Travel Permits for Tibet

Hi, I'm holding a Canadian passport and would like to join some friends to visit Tibet this coming June. All my friends are from Hong Kong and they do not require any visa to enter that place, and the tour will be organized by a local travel guide. My problem here is how to get all necessary travel permits for myself to enter there? I understand it is nearly impossible to do that on my own, so all recommendations and assistance would be greatly appreciated! I hope to get something answered soon so that my friends can go ahead to arrange the tour.

Hi, KaYee.

Actually, after you have asked a local company to arrange your tour, they will help you to get the travel permit. Usually, the passport and an Aliens' Trave Permit issued by Public Security Bureau are needed. Besides, the remittance receipt of the payment from the international visitors or agents to a Tibet local travel agency is also required. But please do not worry and just follow the tour agency's direction to provide them related documents. I did so when I join a tour from TravelChinaGuide.com.

Oh, I should remind you that the group members you join in should have the same nationality.

Hope you can also have a nice trip to that wonderful place.
