About:China Private Visit Visa

Do Chinese authorities recognize a 'partnership' while giving visas?

Me and my boyfriend are about to move to China for his work, but the Chinese are not really satisfied with a Swedish 'sambo'[sth like a partnership]. Do we have to get married for them to recognize it?

Who is "the Chinese" referred to? Did you mean you applied from the embassy and the officers there don't accept your application when you just provide partnership certificate? Did the officer ask you to offer the marriage certificate? If so, please do as they say. According to the new regulations, the family members of the Z type visa holders who apply for S type should provide the relationship certificates such as marriage certificate, birth certificate or any other kinship certificate.
