About:China Private Visit Visa

Civil partnership certificate

My partner and I are in an opposite-sex civil partnership, the certificate has been notarised and legalised by the Chinese embassy in London.
My partner’s school said that the certificate is not valid as it is no marriage. He is in Shanghai and I can’t go with him. Does anyone know why they don’t accept a civil partnership that has been legalised by Chinese embassy?
Thank you

Well, generally speaking, if you want to apply for a spouse visa, you should submit a marriage certificate. Your case is different from most cases, so they may not want to accept the civil partnership certificate.
