About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

overstay

I accidentally overstayed my visa in Japan where I am currently. I would like to leave Japan voluntarily and want to enter mainland china as my next destination. Immigration in Japan says I just need proof I can enter China such as visa and also the airline tickets. I have the invitation letter from China and supporting documents. Can I still apply for a tourist L to China in Japan even with an overstay but no criminal charges?

Hi, you need to visit the embassy or consulate in person for application. Your Japan visa and entry record are necessary. I think it will not be a problem.
