The thick sweaters and thick down jacket are suggested to wear.
I think Yangguang Wangjiang Hotel are near the Shangri-la Hotel, but it is suggested to consult whether they have empty room. i think you can book the hotel on this website, which are very convenient.
From the Yangguang Wangjiang Hotel, you can take a taxi to the Snow and Ice World directly.
For skiing, Yabuli is highly recommended, because it is the paradise for skiing. It is no need to book through tour agency. You can take the train to Yabuli directly and do the ski on your own at the resort. But for hotels in Yabuli, it is suggested to book in advance.
