About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

connecting flight

Hi, I am trying to establish if i have to have a connecting transit flight to obtain the 72 hours free visa permit or can i buy separate ongoing flight? I am a british passport holder travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Los Angeles via Guangzhou to visit a friend for a couple of days, but i cannot seem to find a transit flight with more than 7 hours transit time between flights.

Hi, as far as I know, two separate tickets are ok for this free transit permit. If you are still worried about this, you can confirm this with the entry and exit frontier inspection station of the Guangzhou airport at 0086-20-36066950, or 0086-20-32090088.
