In februari I will travel to Macao and HK for a week. My passport is valid till mid-march.

I read somewhere in Q&A, the passport has to be valid more than one month after departure.
Can anyone confirm this and is this the same for Macao ?
In that case I'll be fine.

Yes, it is true. Your passport should be valid for more than one month when you leave HK or Macao. And you are advised to show ticket for leaving as proof that you will exit ontime.

I have the same case. My passport will have 3 more months validity when I depart back from Hongkong. So this is good information for me as well.
Do you have perhaps a URL to their official site stating this?

Hi, it is true. So, don't worry. I think it is easy to get plenty of information by doing a google search with "Passport validity required to HK". There are official websites also.

I was in HK last week with only one month validity. No problems.
