About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Residual validity of passport.

I'm going to China for two weeks (no VISA), with an Italian passport. On the website of the Chinese embassy in Italy it says that the passport “must be valid for the period of the stay”. I tried to call the embassy, but no one answered. The consulate couldn't tell me anything.
On some travel agency websites I read that the passport must be valid for six months after entry, but mine only has four months validity left. Could this be a problem? Did I misread the embassy's instructions?
Thanks
Claudio

Don't worry, Claudio. As far as I know, there will be no problem generally as long as your passport is still valid on the day of entry and exit.
