About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

If two "stops" in China and no plane change on the 1st stop, would 72 hour apply to where I debark?

After flying Sichuan Airlines flight 8580 from Vancouver, Canada to Chengdu, I plan to continue on a flight direct from Chengdu to Bangkok. I know that I would normally be allowed a 72 hour visa-free visit in Chengdu, but for this flight it says there is a "stop" in Shenyang. It is the same flight number all the way from Vancouver to Chengdu, and it isn't clear whether we can or will get off the plane in Shenyang.

I am afraid not if the ticket shows that there is a stop in Shenyang. You can try to contact Chengdu Airport (the Provincial Border Control Bureau of Sichuan Province) directly at +86-28-86022116
