Travel to china with minor conviction

I have a minor non custodial no fine conviction from over 20 years ago I am travelling with a tour group to Beijing for 10 days what should I put on the visa application for do I have a record or not. Do they check when you applly?

Honestly, I think you should better check NO to the item for criminal background in the application form. It makes difference if you check YES. They will not check it if you only visit for short term as a tourist.
