Does a child need visa if travelling with adults?

Hi, just wondering if a child 8 years old need one too if travelling with an adult who will apply for it? If they do, will the fee for the child be the same? or cheaper?

Yes, he/she must have a valid Chinese visa and the cost is the same as the adult.
