not sure whether i need to change visas

Question

I'm interning for a month in Chengdu and then I want to travel around for three weeks after that but I'm not sure how I would change from F to L or if you can travel on a F type. Thank you!

If your F type is still valid, I think you can travel with it. If it expires after your internship or its validity is shorter than your travel period, you should apply for a new L from the local entry and exit administration department. Please remember that your application should be submitted at least seven working days before it expires.
