About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

my friend invited me to visit china this january, do i need to have an affidavit of support?

He is a chinese citizen, and i was asked by the agency who process my application for visa to ask for the affidavit of suuport from my friend. Do i need it? If yes, how and where can he get that in china?

I think an invitation letter from your friend is ok. If you come to PRC for the first time, you will be asked to provide your recent six months bank balance, tax return form, salary proof from your employer etc....
