About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I enjoy the 72 hours free transit in Shanghai?

Hi all,
1. I want to make a stop over in Shanghai on the way to Hong Kong. I will buy a ticket from Germany (starting point) to Shanghai and a ticket from Shanghai to Hong Kong, that leaves Shanghai about 48 hours after landing in Shanghai. Afterwards I want to stay in Hong Kong for a longer time

2. When beeing in Shanghai, I also would like to visit Suzhou (Jiangsu) for sightseeing. Would this be included in the 72 hours free transit (as it is just the neighbour city)?

Sorry, you can't leave Shanghai for Suzhou during your 72 hours free staty. If you do plan to visit Suzhou, I think you should apply for a L type in advance before you fly to Shanghai.
