About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Can I extend a 6 month F visa for a further 6 months? Or do I need to leave China and reapply?

If an extension is not possible, can I re-apply in China before my current F runs out?

Well, you can extend it at the local PSB but I am afraid that you might fail to acquire another six months stay. Anyway, it depends on the officers of the local PSB. If you get shorter stay than you expect, you can get out and apply for a new one.
