whether any official permission from embassy is required to get marry to a chinese girl?

My firend is in love with a chinese girl in India. His family members wants to know whether the girl is legally married in china or not?  what are the documents to be submitted to embassy to know the girl status? what is the fee? How much time it takes to get the information? Any format of documents to be obtained from embassy of china in India?regars,sunil

The girl should provide a single certificate and get it notarized by the embassy. Before she goes to notarize it by the embassy, she should prepare the following documents:1.Both original and copy of her passport.2.A copy of her legal status such as residence permit, valid visa in India3.A passport size photo4.A declaration letter notarized by the notary office in the place where her Hukou is located.5.She should sign the single certificate at the embassy in person and sign her name and date in front of the officer at the embassy.  It costs Rs1600 to 3200.
