It tells the romantic love story between a white snake and an ordinary person named Xu Xian. The white snake cultivated herself for a thousand years to become a beautiful lady and she fell in love with Xu Xian. However, their love was forbidden by the Heaven, so Fa Hai, an eminent monk, parted them by prisoning the White Snake in Leifeng Pagoda.2
