About:China Visa on Arrival

do I need to get the transit visa because i will stay at the airport for only 10 hours?

I am flying from Melbourne Australia to San Francisco USA through SHANGHAI and I hold a residency of Australia.

Visa is not required if you will not leave the airport during your 10 h stopover.
