About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Regarding 72 hour visa via Chongqing.

Hi travelchinaguide,

I've just been denied boarding my flight to Chongqing, course according the airline's information Chongqing is not on the list of cities issuing 72 hours visas. I tried to argue this by going on the website of 'The bureau of exit and entry of the ministry of public security', but here Chongqing is actually not mentioned, only Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu - I've tried to contact the entry and exit bureau for official informaiton, but I have not received any answer. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can optain valid information regarding this issue?

Dear Peter, we are sorry about this, but Chongqing was indeed approved by the State Council to implement this 72 hour free tranist on 17th October 2013, and it was expected to be in practice from November. We are so sorry that this brought you trouble, and we will try our best to confirm the inforation with the authorities.

Best Regards,
